Ardbeg 10 Years Old (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 46%
Idade: 10 anos
Tasting Notes - Dave Broom
Nose: Astoundingly smoky, yet delicate with subtle tarry notes behind. With water the smoke dies a little and raisin and caramelised apple notes emerge.
Palate: An immediate waft of peat smoke. Full, robustly flavoured with turf and lapsang souchong tea.
Finish: Salty, long and filled with fragrant peat reek.
Comment: A punch in the chops from a stroppy Islay middleweight. Flavour-packed yet delicate.

Ardbeg 17 Years Old (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 40%
Idade: 17 anos
Tasting Notes - Jim Murray
Nose: A gentle, seductive sweet peat leads the way to a complex arrival of malt and vanilla.
Palate: Soft and languid at first, brilliant chewy malt and cocoa adds the depth and balance.
Finish: There is a delightful level of residual peat which ensures a long finish.
Comment: I admit to being a little biased here as I did have a hand in putting this whisky together. But I must say I adore it for its wonderful balance.

Ardbeg 1975 Limited Edition (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 58,10%
Destilado: 1975
Tasting Notes - Michael Jackson
Nose: The complexity starts here. Heathery, rooty, burned notes. Fruity (apple-wood barbecue, grilled tomatoes, roasted peppers?) Hint of the typical Ardbeg 'leafy bonfire' character. Tar. Rope. Seaweed.
Palate: Sappy, earthy, peppery.
Finish: Salt. Lemon skins. Barbecue smokiness. Very long indeed.
Comment: Ardbeg is one of my great favourites, and this is one of the best versions I have tasted recently.

Ardbeg 1977 (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 46%
Destilado: 1977
Tasting Notes - Dave Broom
Nose: Complex and strangely delicate. Seashore aromas but also fruit. Tangerine, marmalade, cream.
Palate: Complex and mouth filling. A lovely soft start with that elegant fruit. The smoke builds in power as it moves through the mouth, drying as it goes.
Finish: Immense. Incredibly long. You’ll taste it the next day.
Comment: A stunner

Arbeg 1990 Limited Edition (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 55%
Destilado: 1990

Ardbeg - Airigh Nam Beast - 1990 Limited Edition (OB)
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 46%
Destilado: 1990
Idade: 16 anos
Tasting Notes- Arthur Motley
Nose: Ashy, smoky and lemony. Seaweed, apple, mint and tea tree oil. Intense, snarling and complex.
Palate: Not quite the assault I’d expected but delicious all the same. Lots of sweetness, tea tree, ash and a vegetal/autumn leaf flavour.
Finish: Smoked meats and a persistent seaweed.
Comment: For all its chest-beating, smoking-gun aroma, the palate is softer and more approachable.Compelling.

Ardbeg - Uigeadail
Região: Islay
Tipo: Single Malt
ABV: 54,2%
Tasting Notes - Michael Jackson
Nose: Intensely smoky. Dry, clean, tangy smoke. Like standing downwind of the barbecue while steaks are char-grilled on the beach.
Palate: Firm, very smooth, then explodes on the tongue.
Finish: Hot. Alcoholic. A shock to the system.
Comment: The elemental opposite of the sophisticated Lord of the Isles.
