A Destilaria de Highland Park, acaba de lançar (infelizmente só em Duty Free) o vintage 1997.

Segundo a destilaria este single malt, tem as caracteristicas das expressões de 16 e 21 YO, mas mais "fumado".

Notas de Prova (destilaria)

Colour: Soft amber hue.

Nose: Classic American oak sherry cask notes of sweet vanilla, hints of butterscotch and coconut to the fore. Background notes of ripe citrus fruits with a whiff of teasing toffee and camphor.

Palate: Beautiful balance of sweetness and heather peat smokiness.

Finish: Long and smoky

Já tinha referido a 2 de Junho deste ano, o início da comercialização em Portugal do mais procurado dos single malt da Highland Park, o Ambassador's Cask nº 4 (oriundo do casco 413) com 29 anos.

Desta vez é lançado o Ambassador's Cask nº5.

Aparentemente será o último Ambassador! (uma espécie de Moicano para esta Gama!).

Para esta última expressão, foi seleccionado o casco 8845, um dos mais emblemáticos cascos re-utilizados de Sherry existentes na destilaria.

Este Ambassador's Cask nº 5, foi amadurecido durante 34 anos (mais cinco que a anterior expressão) e engarrafado com 41,5% ABV.

Segundo Gerry Tosh, Global Brand Ambassador “I was really drawn to this particular cask and wanted to bottle it as the curtain call which would mark the incredible success of our Ambassador’s Cask series. The initial impact of this cask strength alcohol makes the lips and then the tongue tingle. The sides of the tongue start to dance and as the hidden citrus emerges, warmth permeates the whole of the mouth.”

Highland Park, Vintage 1997 Reserve, 10 Years Old.
Este Single Malt, originário de um único casco (Single Cask), foi destilado em 1997 e amadurecido durante 10 anos, tendo acabado a sua fase de desenvolvimento em cascos de ex-Jerez.
Engarrafado em 2008, como cask strength a 57,6% (ABV), pelos engarrafadores independentes Gordon & MacPhail.


Notas de Prova:
Cor: Simplesmente linda. Ouro escuro, com rasgos de âmbar.
Nariz: Fabuloso e inesperado. Abundante fruta silvestre, com o dominio da cereja. A influência do sherry é clara. Notas de Malte e algum fumo.
Paladar: Este single malt envolve completamente a boca e é possuidor de um calor fabuloso. Mais uma vez domina a cereja e os frutos encarnados. Ligeiras notas de mel e algum chocolate (suave).
Final: Longo, quente e com notas finais achocolatadas.

Nose: Sweet tobacco. Scented: sandalwood, walnuts.

Palate: Sultanas, lemons, vanilla, butterscotch, toasted almonds. Very restrained sweetness.

Finish: Long and soothing. Late hint of spicy, heathery smoke.

Comment: Some drinkers might perfer this great whisky slightly younger and fresher. Those who like a touch of oak will find this very elegant.

Highland Park - 30 Years Old - The Spectator 180th Anniversary (Single Malt Whisky)

Para comemorar o 180º aniversário da revista inglesa The Spectator, a Highland Park, acaba de lançar uma edição limitada de 180 garrafas de Highland Park 30 year old. A ideia de uma edição com 30 anos, surgir devido ao facto que a Highland Park foi fundada 30 anos antes que a The Spectator.


As notas de prova da destilaria são:

Colour: Natural colour, dark red golden, clear and bright.
Nose: Very rich, mature oak, chocolate, fudge.
Palate: Full, rich burst of flavour, soft honey, nutty toffee.
Finish: Rich, long and surprisingly sweet for its age.


Infelizmente esta garrafa, com 48,1%, só estará disponível no site da The Spectator, e exclusivamente para leitores ingleses.

Highland Park - Single Cask whisky (#413) Brand Ambassador's Cask 4 - 29 Years Old (Single Malt Whisky)

Foi colocado hoje em comercialização o Highland Park Single Cask 29 anos.

Este novo Highland Park Brand Ambassador's Cask 4, totalmente originário no casco nº 413, é um cask strength com 56,1%.

Segundo a destilaria, apesar do elevado teor alcoólico, o whisky é extremamente suave e aromático.

Segundo a Highland Park, as notas de prova são as seguintes:

Colour: Burnt gold.
Nose: Butterscotch with a strong note of cherry, then a gentle plum pudding scent arriving very late. As this whisky is allowed to air it becomes even sweeter and the butterscotch turns into vanilla. A hint of peat floats through.
Palate: A joy of a whisky. Sweet and smooth initially, then the fire of the cask strength hits with a wheelbarrow full of candied fruit to make your mouth water.
Finish: All the signs of another classic Highland Park whisky, sweet and gently smoked.

Highland Park - 40 anos "O lançamento" - Single Malt Whisky

Tal como notíciamos a 18 de Abril, a Highland Park, tornou agora público e agendou para o mês de Maio o lançamento comercial no Reino Unido do seu whisky de 40 anos. Este whisky, não será uma edição limitada, mas sim um produto que fará parte da gama desta destilaria.

Esta garrafa será comercializada numa elegante caixa de carvalho, acompanhada de um livro encadernado, de 28 páginas, detalhando o "bilhete de identidade" deste single malt.

Infelizmente para o comúm dos mortais, este "canhão" irá ser vendido a £899!!!.
